Seoul at night

There is a small mountain right in the centre of Seoul. It gives great views all around the city, provided the air is clear enough (which wasn't very often during April). Apart from the air pollution of a huge city like this, Spring is the season of "Yellow Dust"- a fine dust that blows down from the Gobi desert and hangs in the air.

If there's two things that Korean's love, it's shopping and neon- and they're frequently found together. The city really comes alive at night when the neon is switched on.

Saturday night at Myongdong

There are some chaotic, exciting eating/drinking areas around Seoul, but there's also some great little alleys that have charasmatic small restaurants- sometimes with only a couple of tables inside. Despite there sometimes being English writing on signs outside restaurants, it's rarely an indication that any English will be spoken by the staff, or that there will be an English menu.
