Korea Postscript
We may have thought we had completed our last post on Korea, but with a busy last week catching up with people and saying goodbye to some of our favourite spots, we ended up with some more snaps that we wanted to share.
The eastern end of Cheongye stream- we finally made it to the end
We were overwhelmed by the well wishes we got from our students in the last week- this 3rd grade middle school class (one that Trent and I both teach) bought us a cake and sang a farewell song that they made up on the spot (to the tune of 'happy birthday')
Me and Christine (2) posing in front of Konkuk Uni area- we caught up for a yummy lunch of shabu shabu (you cook meat and vegies in a broth at your table)
Our last dinner with the academy principal and fellow elementary teachers consisted of two rounds- first chicken and beer, and then...
... live octupus! This tentacle is trying to escape the grab of the chopsticks. Again something that we had on our 'must do' list was finally accomplished our last night in Seoul.
One of our last sights of Korea as our ferry, bound for Qingdao in China, departed Incheon port.
The 17 hour ferry ride was a breeze in our comfortable royal suite. With very little movement the ride was smooth and we had a good sleep before disembarking early morning and starting a new day in China.
We thought we'd leave you with some very popular Korean culture, especially amongst some of our students.
Dong Bang Shin Ki
Lee Jun Ki - a popular Korean actor, starring in an ad for pomegranate juice
