First taste of Italy

Our Italian stint began in Bergamo, a pretty town not too far from Milan. The cuisine in Asia had been incredible, but we were keen to get to Italy to experience some familiar foods. We had also not been in a country that used Roman script for 14 months, so to pick up our first menu in Bergamo and be able to read it (if not quite understand it all!) was a treat. Our first night was an indulgence of thin crust pizza, pasta, wine and espresso- it was great to be in Italy!
