Chillin' on Como

After much anticipation Trent and I met up with my Mum and Dad in Milan and hopped on a train/ferry to Bellagio, a great little spot on Lake Como, in the north of Italy. We spent a week here taking in the breathtaking scenery of the lake and the little settlements on its shore. We caught many a ferry and ate and drank a lot of good stuff. We kept our eyes peeled (well Mum and I did) for one of the locals- George Clooney, without avail, however, we did drift past the site of one of the Star Wars' sets.

Great to be able to share some time with Mum and Dad on the other side of the world from home

Bellagio- a great setting between lake and moutains

Our diet to date...

At least one gelato a day.. my personal favourite- pistachio

Devine thin crust pizza - usually one per 2/3 days

Breakfast cappucino

Espresso after midday- only "tourists" do milk coffee after twelve

Couple of bottles of the local drop over lunch/dinner

And here are a few more glimpses of beautiful Lake Como...

A small quiet suburb of Bellagio

The silhouettes of dusk

A colourful fruit market in Lugano, a Swiss town a quick bus ride from Como

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR MELANIE
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!

I wish that the whole family could be there to help you celebrate. I can't believe that my first born is 30! I feel so old! Dad and I had a great time with you both in Italy. Thank you for sharing that time with us. The food and wine photos bring back lots of memories. Unfortunately I haven't been able to stop eating since!
